Widely considered one of the best places to live in Britain, the beautiful county of West Sussex has a lot to offer. From the rolling fields of the South Downs to the beautiful surf haven of West Wittering beach, we have collected together the top reasons we love to live in stunning Sussex.

Countryside

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to areas of outstanding natural beauty in West Sussex. Chichester Harbour spans much of the lush green West Sussex coastline, which is speckled with charming seaside towns like Bosham, Climping and Itchenor.  Beautiful walks weave their way along the coastline and over and around the gorgeous South Downs National Park. The county is rich in places you can enjoy wildlife particularly in Pagham; home to an internationally renowned Nature Reserve boasting an abundance of migrant birds and plant life. West Sussex also has some of the best beaches in the South whether it’s Easthead at West Wittering or the iconic Bognor Regis, there are a number of shores in which to sink your toes.

Connections

With direct train and road connections to the large neighbouring cities, places like Chichester and Bognor Regis make a particularly convenient base for any big city workers craving a touch of the rural life. Gatwick airport is located to the North East of West Sussex affording international flights, making it ideal for those who travel further afield, be it for work or pleasure.

Steeped in history, with attractions such as the glorious Goodwood Estate and Racecourse, Arundel Castle, Chichester Cathedral, Chichester Festival Theatre, Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Bignor Roman Villa and the historic Felpham village to name but a few, there is never an excuse to be bored in West Sussex!
